FEMA to conduct nationwide cellular emergency alert test

FEMA will be conducting a test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) at 1:20 p.m. CT on Wednesday.

Test messages will only be sent to mobile devices which have enabled Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) notifications.

The test of the WEA and EAS offers a chance for those to check their settings and ensure they will receive alerts in the event of an emergency.
