Finger lickin’ good: New KFC flagship store opens in Vicksburg

The long-awaited opening of the new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on South Frontage Road has finally arrived and on Friday morning, an eager staff welcomed their first customers.

Kentucky Fried Chicken has more than 24,000 restaurants in over 145 countries, but the new location in Vicksburg is one of just five flagship stores in the country. The design is nothing short of stunning, utilizing natural wood, exposed brick and high-end finishings to create a look that is both rustic and modern.

A signature bucket chandelier is the centerpiece of the dining room, flanked by artwork and decor that connects to the brand’s heritage and founder, Colonel Sanders. An abundance of oversized windows invite the sunlight, as well as customers, into the dining area. The result is an inviting space that you instantly recognize as KFC, but feels like Vicksburg.

The store was originally slated to open in January of this year, but supply chain issues hindered those plans. Eight months later, the excitement was tangible as team members, owners and family gathered in the dining room just before opening the doors for the first time to pray together. After thanking God for the opportunity and requesting His blessing, the team turned their attention to their very first customer.

“We’re glad to be open. It’s been a long time coming,” said Miller Rials, a business partner of the locally owned KFC that is operated by Delish Brands. “We’re ready to serve the community.”
The restaurant features an extended drive-through and plenty of parking. So, head over to 2730 South Frontage Road and experience this one-of-a-kind KFC for yourself.
