Fire at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery

A grass fire broke out at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery on U.S. Highway 80 in Warren County Tuesday afternoon.

Cemetery personnel attempted to put out the fire using a tractor.

Warren County firefighters responded to the fire around 1:30 p.m. including Fire Coordinator Jerry Briggs and engines 207 and 209 from the Culkin Fire Station.

According to Briggs, the fire appears to have spread from the fire pit where crews were burning leaves.

The fire is under control at this time.
