Vicksburg Fire Fighters are currently battling an industrial structural fire at the OYO hotel at 2390 South Frontage Road. The initial call was dispatched at 10:47pm.
Vicksburg Police arrived on scene and were attempting to evacuate hotel guests while encountering heavy smoke. One caller had indicated she was trapped inside her room.
Vicksburg Fire Engines 2 ,8 and Ladder 3 were dispatched along with Fire Medic 80 as part of the initial response along with Battalion 1.
When Chief Craig Dancyck arrived on scene, he instructed Vicksburg Warren 911 to sound a second alarm and dispatch Platform 1 as a second Ariel apparatus was needed to get water above the two-story structure.
All occupants of the hotel were safely evacuated. There have been no injuries.
Vicksburg Fire Fighters are expected to be on scene for several hours battling the blaze. We will provide additional information as it becomes available to us.
