Firefighters battling blaze at Batesville Casket Co.

A fire incident was reported at Batesville Casket Co. on Highway 61 South, prompting an immediate response from local firefighters.

The first call came in shortly after 4 p.m., indicating a fire alarm at the Batesville Casket Co. However, it was determined to be a false alarm and the call was canceled.

Approximately a half an hour later, at around 4:30 p.m., another call came in, this time reporting a silo fire at the same location.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and quickly geared up to combat the blaze despite the challenging conditions of extreme heat.
