“Come downtown and shop first, then watch the fireworks” was the word from Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr.

The city will not provide public seating due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the issues related to social distancing.

“People will be able to see the fireworks from all over the Vicksburg area,” Flaggs said. “We want everyone to see the show but are encouraging people to stay in their cars and keep their social distance.”

The show will be held on the Yazoo Diversion canal, and music by The Chill starts at 8 p.m. with the fireworks beginning around 9 p.m.
