Flaggs announces City withdrawn from Moody’s Investors Service

On Tuesday, Mayor George Flaggs, Jr., issued a press release and announced the City of Vicksburg has been withdrawn from Moody’s Investors Service.
The release reads:
It has been brought to my attention that the City of Vicksburg, MS is one of five local governments that’s rating has been withdrawn by Moody’s Investors Service.
I am referring all calls to Dough Whittington, City of Vicksburg Director of Financial Administration. The Director has an obligation to oversee all financial obligations of the City.
I pray that we can rectify this situation in the upcoming weeks so that Moody’s Investors Service will have all the necessary information to reconcile this matter in an expedited manner.
Credit ratings, risk analysis, and research for companies, bonds, and governmental bodies are offered to investors by Moody’s Investors Service.
Last year, Vicksburg was able to maintain its A2 ranking for the seventh consecutive year.
