Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. announced Friday that most of the city’s COVID-19 restrictions were being extended until Monday, Oct. 5, at 8 a.m.

Those orders were set to expire Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Some businesses in the city will be allowed to return to their regular hours, including salons, barber shops and other personal care businesses. All businesses will still be required to follow guidelines on wearing masks, social distancing and sanitizing.

Flaggs said it was also a cause for celebration “that in Vicksburg and Warren County we are reducing our numbers, because I think we are in compliance with most of the things we ask people to do.”

The Vicksburg Daily News will be posting the newest proclamation on our website soon. Watch the mayor’s news conference on our Facebook page.
