Flaggs to announce plan to reorganize the Vicksburg Police Department

Vickburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. will be announcing a plan to reorganize the city’s police department to make it more functional and accountable to the public.

The announcement will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. in a news conference in the mayor’s office at Vicksburg City Hall.

“I want the public to know exactly who’s responsible and whom they need to approach if there’s any problem,” Flaggs said in a release. “One murder, one crime is one too many in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and won’t be tolerated as long as I’m mayor.”
