Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs, Jr. has announced a news conference to discuss the future of LD’s Bar and Lounge in Vicksburg.

The news conference is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. in the Robert M. Walker Building Board Room. The announcement comes just hours after a shooting took place at LD’s Bar and Lounge where three people were reported injured in the late evening hours of Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020.

“As of now, LD’s Bar and Lounge will remain shut down,” Flaggs said in a statement Wednesday morning. “During the Thursday morning news conference, I will discuss how I intend to address the future of LD’s Bar and Lounge.”

Mayor Flaggs has canceled a previously scheduled out-of-state trip for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to remain in Vicksburg to address the shooting incident at LD’s and the forecast of inclement weather due to Hurricane Delta.
