Flashes battled hard against ACCS on Monday

St. Aloysius came up short against Adams County Christian School in a hard-fought doubleheader on Monday.

Game one:

The Flashes went up 4-2 in the first inning after a 3-run home run from Cole Autrey and a single by Carson Smith.

Clark Hobson would single in the third to bring in another run but ACCS responded with seven runs of their own.

A double from Matthew Pitre and a sacrifice from Autrey would give St. Al three more runs in the fourth but ACCS continued to hit the ball well and got on the board four more times.

Late in the game, Barrett Shows would hit a 3-run home run but the Flashes eventually would take the 15-12 loss.

Autrey finished with five RBIs and Shows ended the night with two hits and three RBIs. Keller Bradley and Pitre both had two hits while Walt Andrews, Hobson, and Smith had one.

Bradley struck out three and Autrey struck out two.

Game two:

Game two would be another close game resulting in a 4-3 loss for St. Al.

Bradley and Smith had two hits while Damien Reeves and Cole Autrey both had one hit.

Pitre only allowed three hits and struck out 13 batters.
