Flashes freshman team shuts out their third consecutive team on Thursday

St. Aloysius freshman football team defeated Park Place 40-0 on Thursday. This marks the third consecutive week the St. Aloysius freshman football team has shutout their opponent.

The Flashes defense was instrumental in the win. Defensive coordinator Derrick Watson called the shots and defensive line coach Vincent Farrell controlled the trenches.

The defense confronted Park Place with multiple players making huge plays. Ashton Gray, Clark Hobson and Taylor Zadrozny grabbed multiple sacks and tackles for loss.

Dalton Windham and Vaughn Hynum both caught interceptions. Teammate Carson Smith returned a fumble for a touchdown in the first quarter.

On the offensive side, Thompson Fortenberry carried the ball mostly in the first half of the game and found his way into the end zone twice, with 99 yards. Fred Mixon handled the ground game in the second half and also scored a touchdown with 57 yards.

Smith took the snaps in the victory and hit Robert Lee on a touchdown pass. Sadler Lambiotte stepped in on offense in the second half and threw a long touchdown to Hynum.

The Flashes improved to 3-0 on the year and seek to keep their winning streak going next week.
