A slow start led to St. Aloysius taking a 5-3 loss to Copiah Academy on Tuesday.

Adam Francisco got the Flashes on the board first with a homerun to go up 1-0. CA would eventually take a 2-1 lead by the end of the first.

Big plays made by Copiah in the second inning helped extend their lead to 5-1.

The Flashes wouldn’t allow Copiah to get another score and would find themselves getting back into the game after Barrett Shows and Conner Gaul both got big hits that resulted in scores.

Although St. Aloysius narrowed Copiah’s lead, the Flashes took the tough loss.

Cole Autrey went 2 for 3 at the plate while Francisco, Shows, Gaul, and Nathaniel Moore all had one hit.

Shows struckout two batters on the night.
