Flood Gates are Coming Down

The City of Vicksburg Water Department has started removing the flood gates on Levee Street.

City crews work to remove the flood gates.

The wooden ties were installed in April to contain flood waters expected to crest in May. The duration of this flood event caused the river to stay above flood stage for longer than anticipated.
