Flood warning continues for Big Black River, more rain possible Wednesday and Thursday

There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday, mainly in the afternoon for locations south of Interstate 20. High temperatures should be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

Better chances for showers and thunderstorms will return to the forecast area Thursday. High temperatures will once again range from the upper 80s to lower 90s.

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Flood Warning for the Big Black River near Bovina until late Thursday night.  Flood stage is 28 feet. At 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, the stage was 34.9 feet.

The river is expected to fall below flood stage and reach 14 feet by Sunday evening.
