On Tuesday night, Brian Flowers defeated his District 2 challenger, Ronald Eller in the Republican Party primary runoff election.

Eller dominated in Warren County with 55% of the vote, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Flowers district-wide.

Turnout was light across the state and in Warren County. The St. Al precinct logged only a single voter all day long according to posted numbers.

Of the 1358 total votes cast in Warren County, Eller took 750 or 55.2% of the vote.

District-wide, with 87% of the vote counted, Flowers has been declared the winner with a commanding 58% of the vote.

Flowers will go on to face Bennie Thompson in the Nov. 8 general election.
