Foot pursuit leads to capture of Norfort
On Monday, Quinton Norfort, of Vicksburg, led officers on a foot pursuit from Mission 66 near the railroad overpass east to the boundary of the National Park.
Norfort was being sought in connection to a June 1 incident involving shots fired into an occupied vehicle. That incident occurred near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Alcorn Drive.
After the chase ensued, officers were able to take Norfort into custody.
He faces several charges which include shooting into an occupied vehicle, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and based on evidence recovered during the foot chase, possession of marijuana.
On Tuesday Norfort appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter. He was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury on a $285,000 bond.
