Former Brave returns as Alcorn’s defensive end coach

Alcorn State University’s football team just took back one of their own, as former player Darien Moody has been hired as the new defensive ends coach.
Moody graduated from Alcorn in 2016 where he was a part of the 2014 and 2015 SWAC Championship team under former Alcorn head coach Jay Hopson. Moody stayed on as a graduate assistant where he helped the Braves return to the SWAC Championship game.
In 2018, Moody coached at the University of Southern Mississippi as a graduate assistant under Hopson before becoming the defensive line coach at Mississippi Valley State in 2019.
Moody will now serve under Alcorn head coach Fred McNair who was the assistant head coach when he was playing for the Braves.
