Former Eagle Landon Tomkins selected in the 2023 MLB Draft

RAYMOND, Miss. – Former Hinds Community College baseball player Landon Tomkins (2019-2020) was selected in the 2023 MLB Draft.
Tompkins, of Brandon, was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 10th Round and was the 287th pick. During his time at Hinds, he made 21 appearances with a 1-1 record on the mound and 25.0 innings pitched. Additionally, Tomkins totaled 23 strikeouts and finished his Hinds’ career with a 1.98 ERA.
Tomkins played a vital role of the overall success during the 2019 season and the 2020 season before it was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After Hinds, he continued his career at Louisiana Tech University where he was primarily the go to guy out of the bullpen for the past three seasons.
