Former JPD Officer killed in Atlanta

Former Jackson Police Department officer was killed on Thursday while off-duty in Atlanta.
24-year-old Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy James Thomas was found shot to death in his personal vehicle  that crashed. Crime Stoppers are offering a $30,000 reward for information in regarding Thomas’ death.
JPD Chief of Police released a statement in the wake of Thomas’ death:
“On behalf of the Jackson Police Department, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Deputy James Thomas and The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office,” Chief Davis said in a Facebook post. “During his tenure with the Jackson Police Department, Deputy Thomas was known as a vibrant and energetic officer beloved by his peers.
“I pray that you all find comfort in the lord during this difficult time.”
Thomas is a native of Jackson, Mississippi and a graduate of Murrah High School.
