Former local athletes win high academic awards for Hinds CC

Vicksburg natives Maddie Watkins, Hank Holdiness, Ryan Theriot and Addie Hale were among 35 Hinds Community College student-athletes to qualify for the Distinguished Academic All State list for their great academic achievements.

All four athletes made the list due to maintaining a grade point average of 3.8 or higher for the 2020-2021 school year.

Watkins and Hale were both members of the Lady Eagles women’s soccer team while Holdiness played on the baseball team and Theriot played soccer.

Watkins, Hale, and Holdiness are also all graduates of Warren Central High School where they were once student-athletes for the Vikings while Theriot starred for St. Aloysius.
