Hollandale Simmons High School football are now district champions under the leadership of head coach Tavares Johnson Sr., who was once the head coach of Vicksburg High.

The Blue Devils were named as the district champs  of region 2 after Friday’s 62-0 win over West Bolivar.

The 2021 season is Johnson’s second stint with Simmons as he once coached there for the three seasons and won two state championships in 2015 and 2016.

The Blue Devils are now 9-0 and will wrap up the regular season this Friday against Coldwater.
