A former Vicksburg police officer was killed in a motorcycle accident this morning, Sept. 28.

Glenn Everett Roe, a Vicksburg native, was a sergeant with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office working in the hospital division, reports the Sun Herald newspaper. He had been with the Harrison County Sheriff for 25 years.

According to the paper, Roe and his wife were on separate motorcycles that collided with an automobile driven by a teenager in Ocean Springs about 11:30 a.m.

Roe’s wife, also from Vicksburg, was also injured in the crash. She was taken to the local hospital, and her condition is unknown.

Roe was off duty at the time.

The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help to provide details of the crash.
