Former WC running back Corey Wilson Jr. transfers from USM to Hinds CC
Former Warren Central athlete, Corey Wilson jr. has transferred from the University of Southern Mississippi to Hinds Community College where he is expected to do great things.
Wilson graduated from Warren Central in 2019 where he was a star running back who led the Vikings in rushing yards. In 2017, he rushed for 941 yards and 17 touchdowns, and the Vikings finished with a 9-4 record and a playoff appearance.
Wilson finished high school with  2,247 yards and 28 touchdowns over three varsity seasons. He impressed Golden Eagles head coach Jay Hopson, and Wilson signed with USM in 2019.
Having only limited playing time in his first season at USM, Wilson decided to transfer and will now join the Hinds CC Eagles this fall.
With his history, Wilson is expected to do big things next season even as he prepares to fight for a starting spot on the team.
Wilson has played under great coaches so far including his father, Corey Wilson Sr., Josh Morgan and Jay Hopson.
As he leads his new team onto the field this fall, Wilson will be one to watch as he hopes to impress new scouts.
