Four VJHS Football Players Selected to Play in an All-Star Game
Four Vicksburg Junior High School football players have been selected to play in the Magnolia Sports Association Future Elit3 Eighth Grade All-Star Game. Daylin Atkins, Ashlon Brown, Rodney Allen, and Rico Thomas are the four standouts who were selected.
In the 2024 season, Allen, Brown, Thomas, and Atkins helped VJHS to a 4-2 season under Head Coach Larry Carter Jr. Thomas starred at quarterback while Allen was his lead blocker and Atkins was one of his top receivers. The Gators averaged 26 points per game on offense as Offensive Coordinator Joe Johnson Jr. handled the play calling.
Brown starred on the defensive line where he racked up many sacks and tackles as VJHS only allowed 15.5 points per game. Jerdon Hardiman served as the defensive coordinator. Atkins also played defensive back where he led the team in interceptions.
The All-Star Game will be played on November 19.
