Free drive-thru vaccination and testing event Oct. 23 at the Vicksburg Mall

A Free drive-thru vaccination and testing event will take place Oct. 23 at the Vicksburg Mall (formally Pemberton Square Mall). Vaccinations will be administered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Group of Concerned Citizens is partnering with HealthCare on the Go, LLC and the Mississippi State Department of Health to host the event.

First and second dose vaccinations will be available for those age 12 and older who need one. Boosters will be offered to those who are age 50 and above who have underlying health conditions. those older than 65 qualify without underlying conditions. If a second vaccine or booster is needed, a vaccination card will be required.

Boosters for all three vaccine products will be available. For Pfizer and Moderna it must be at least six months since the initial dose. For J&J, at least two months.

Boosters are recommended for those who are 65 or older, 18-64 at high risk of severe Covid (immunocompromised), 18-64 with frequent institutional or occupational exposure (thinking working/living with Immunocompromised people)

The event will be located at the Vicksburg Mall’s northeast parking lot next to Belk at 3503 Pemberton Square.
