FSIS is issuing a public health alert on chicken soup

FSIS is issuing a public health alert for chicken soup products due to misbranding.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert. An alert was issued due to misbranding of chicken soup products.

Chicken soup products state wheat as an ingredient, but states “gluten free”, which is false.

FSIS wants to ensure that consumers are aware of this misbranding, so those with allergic reactions to gluten are aware and do not consume them.

There has been no recall as the affected products were distributed to retail locations within the same corporate umbrella and sold directly to consumers.

FSIS believes that none of these products are available to be purchased at this time.
