Further Details from the Waffle House Robbery

Friday, April 1, 2011 We received the following information from Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department. At 8:59 pm on Thursday night, officers and investigators from the Vicksburg Police Department responded to the Waffle House located at 2455 North Frontage Road in reference to an Armed Robbery. Employees at the store stated that 2 males, one white and the other described as either Hispanic or a light-skinned black male, entered the store and demanded money. The 2 suspects got an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store. A Waffle House employee escaped out the backdoor and blocked the robbers’ vehicle escape route. The 2 men the confronted the employee and pointed the gun at him. The employee then backed up, striking the white male suspect who was identified as Nathan Kirkley, age 22 of 105 Church Hill Drive. Kirkley was transported to River Region Medical Center where he was stabilized and later transferred to University Medical Center in Jackson to be treated for head injuries. Kirkley is listed in good condition this morning. He will be officially charged with Armed Robbery upon his release from UMC. Police are searching for the other suspect and a white female who was also in the suspect vehicle. Lt. Stewart also sent the following reports: 11:11 am – 37 year old Stanley Gilmore of 13207 Lamp Lighten Court, South Field, Michigan was taken into custody in the 1200 block of Monroe Street on a warrant form Claiborne County for Aggravated Assault that occurred on March 28, 2011. He was later returned to Claiborne County. 4:41 pm – Jessica Steen, age 28, of 7894 Campbell Swamp Road, was taken into custody following a traffic stop in the 4800 block of Hwy 61 South on a warrant for the Sale of a Schedule III Controlled Substance, Hydrocodone. Steen was held on a $2,500.00 bond. 5:03 pm – Frederick Valentine, age 38 of 1223 East Magnolia Street, was arrested after police served a search warrant at his residence following an undercover drug investigation into complaints of drug activity in the area. Valentine was charged with Sale of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute. Police recovered approximately 2 ounces of Marijuana and $1,100.00 in cash. Valentine was held on a $10,000.00 bond. 6:12 pm – VPD took a report of a residential burglary in the 300 block of Cairo Drive in which a Dell laptop computer and a 50″ flat screen TV were reported stolen.]]]]> ]]> See a typo?
