The mullet is arguably one of the most famous hair-doos. Did you know there are competitions surrounding the iconic hairstyle?

The origin of the mullet is up for debate. Some attribute its inception to french fashion guru Henri Mollet in the early 1970s. Others give the honor to singer Rod Stewart. Some even argue that greek statues dated back to 6th century BCE show characters adorning the hairstyle. Regardless, the mullet doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon.

USA Mullet Championships have taken place across various states in the US to host live competitions for those who ‘rock the doo’ to showcase their version of the style and, hopefully, win one of several prizes.

Adults aren’t the only ones who can join in the fun. A kids division of the contests also exists, putting the spotlight on the next generation of mullet sporters.
