Gas leak prompts evacuation in Lee’s Circle area

At around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, a gas leak was reported from 107 Lee’s Circle, off Halls Ferry Road in Warren County.

It is believed a gas line was ruptured while digging.  Witnesses at the scene reported that they could smell gas and hear the hissing leak.

Officials are evacuating the area until the leak is under control and the escaped gas has dissipated. It is unclear at this time how many people will be asked to evacuate or how long the area will need to be kept clear.

Please avoid the Lee’s Circle area as crews work to contain the gas leak and ensure the area is safe for residents.
