For the past four weeks, the Vicksburg Gator defense has yet to be scored upon by their competition.

VHS started their season off by giving up 34 points to Germantown, followed by seven points to Warren Central and now they’re on a four game winning streak where zero points have been allowed since district play. Neither Canton, Forest Hill, Jim Hill or Provine have been able to get into to the endzone against Vicksburg.

Throughout the entire year, the defense has mastered their assignments. Defensive lineman and linebackers have shut down the run game, along with the secondary players grabbing interceptions from each side of the field (including four against Forest Hill). Defensive Coordinator Christopher Lacey has been leading the defense this year.

The Gators now eye their travel to Callaway this Friday in another district match. Friday’s game will be played at Forest Hill High School.
