Vicksburg High School boys and girl’s basketball team will have their season opener against Germantown on Thursday.

The Missy Gators will be led by head coach Troy Stewart who has led the team over recent years. The ladies squad is returning multiple starters from last year’s team which reached the semifinals with key players like Destini Sims and Layla Carter.

On the boy’s side, head coach Kelvin Carter will be calling the shots as his young team is looking to make a statement tonight against the Mavericks. Kameron Brown, Tyler Carter, Davion Williams, and Malik Franklin are the most experienced players that are expected to make a heavy impact on the Gators.

Both games will be away with the girls playing first at 6:00 and the boys will play immediately afterwards.

VDN will provide game updates as scores are uploaded.
