Gators finished with a tie against ACCS
Vicksburg High School tied 1-1 with Adams County Christian School on Tuesday night.
“We’ll take a tie over a loss any day and we always tell the guys that we’ll do better than yesterday and we’re constantly improving and I’m happy to be here,” VHS Head Coach Maurice Gilliam said.
The crucial battle for the ball between the Gators and Rebels lasted throughout the entire match as both teams fought for a goal. ACCS managed to take the 1-0 lead in the first half.
VHS came out in the second half and got on the board quickly as Dacion Brown scored their lone goal with the assist from Braylon Green to tie the game. The Gators missed out on some key opportunities to seal the win but with the help of their strong defense they were able to keep the Rebels from scoring. Xavier Williams had 10 saves for the Gators.
The Gators’ program have shown much improvement in 2023, beginning with their season opener win a few weeks ago against McLaurin.
“I see plenty of improvement and I see that they want to play and they’re fighting to the last whistle,” Gilliam added.
VHS will travel to play Cleveland Central on Tuesday.
