Gators hang in tight with Yazoo on Tuesday

Vicksburg High School boy’s basketball team had a close game on Tuesday a 43-42 loss to Yazoo City.

Yazoo took a 14-5 lead in the first quarter but the Gators made a quick comeback. By halftime, the Gators only trailed by five with the score hanging at 18-13.

Malik Franklin led the Gators by scoring 15 points for the Gators. Davian Williams added eight. Kameron Brown, Tyrese Ford, and Tyler Carter all contributed four.

The fourth quarter saw VHS putting up big numbers to keep the game tight. Franklin then knocked down two key three pointers. The game finished with Yazoo up by one point.

The Gators will return to action on Friday when they travel to McComb.
