Gators made a late comeback to defeat Jim Hill 13-10 on Tuesday

Vicksburg High School baseball team grabbed a close 13-10 win over Jim Hill on Tuesday.

JH got the first two runs from errors in the first inning.

Tyler Carter and Connor Harrigill would both get hits in the second for VHS while the Tigers still led 2-0.

Jim Hill would strike again in the third with three more runs to go up 5-0.

The Gators responded in the fourth with a double from Braylon Green and Chris Green that brought in four runs to put the score at 6-5 with VHS leading after Carter got a RBI and Kealon Bass scored on a passed ball.

The Tigers would eventually regain the lead in the fourth.

By the sixth inning, the Gators responded with three runs after Mickell Jones brought in two runs after a single.

VHS took control of things in the seventh beginning with Carter scoring on a passed ball followed by a double from Raymond Grey along with a run score to give the Gators a 13-10 lead. The Gator defense took over as well and didn’t allow a run in the final inning to bring home the win.

Braylon Green struck out six while Bass only allowed two runs while striking out three.

Grey went 2 for 3 at the plate while Mincer Minor IV, Chris Green, Bass, Carter, Jones, Harrigill and Braylon Greem all had a hit.

VHS will be back at home on Friday.
