Gators ranked as No. 1 in 5A and No.9 in the state

Vicksburg High School basketball team is now ranked as No. 1 in 5A and No. 9 in the state of Mississippi according to Mississippi Gridiron.

The Gators, who are led by Head Coach Kelvin Carter, currently have an 11-1 record, having begun the season with a 10-game winning streak.

They are coming off a 66-61 win over McComb on Friday night and will travel to play Murrah on Tuesday.

The Gators have currently ranked ahead of Provine (8-2), Canton (10-2), Neshoba Central (11-2) and Cleveland Central (8-4) in the 5A classification.
