The Vicksburg High School football team will not have to forfeit any games due to a fighting incident that occurred last week.

The ruling came down on Tuesday from the MHSAA, stating that some players will be suspended for one game against Neshoba Central next Friday, but those players can return the following week.

The Vicksburg-Warren School District has confirmed this ruling, and the Vicksburg vs. Warren Central game, scheduled for Oct. 13, will not be in jeopardy.

Last Friday, a VHS football player was thrown to the ground by his face mask, which caused a brief scuffle between the Gators and Yazoo City.

VHS won the game 35-0 after it was called off in the third quarter.

The Gators will travel to Neshoba Central on Oct. 6.
