Glenda Ann Perry Wilson, 1949 – 2022

Glenda was born in Saint Joseph, Louisiana on January 04, 1949, to the late Walter Neal Perry and Mollie Elizabeth Feroben Perry.  She spent time in Holly Ridge, Dunn, Delhi, Saint Joseph, Newellton, and Vicksburg.  On September 1, 1967, she and Richard Hugh Wilson (d. 2021) were married in holy matrimony.  On December 08, 1969, she gave birth to their one and only son, James Richard Wilson.

Glenda worked numerous jobs throughout her life.  She worked at the Bear’s Den, Parks Lumber Company, and Buddy Grocery in Newellton.  After moving to Vicksburg she worked at Super Junior, Country Kitchen, then Harrah’s Casino, Ameristar Casino and finally Rainbow Casino.  She retired in 2011 from Ameristar Casino as a cashier.

Glenda was an avid bowler.  She was in the Monday Night Ladies League, the Wednesday night Couples League, the Thursday morning Ladies League, and the Friday night Couples League at Red Carpet Lanes in Vicksburg.  She and her husband traveled with friends to many bowling tournaments around the South.  She and her husband were avid fishermen as well.  They spent many, many, many happy hours fishing in the Mississippi River and Yazoo River as well as Lake Saint Joe, Lake Bruin, and Yucatan Landing.

Glenda passed away peacefully at her home in the company of her son, James R. Wilson, and his husband, Emanuel H. Bixler, V.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard of 53 years, her mother, Mollie Elizabeth Feroben Perry, her father, Walter Neal Perry, her mother-in-law, Dorothy Ellen Waggoner Wilson Ramsey, and her grandmother-in-law Irena “Tom” Brewer Waggoner.

She is survived by her son James (Emanuel) along with her sisters Sue Jackson, Peggy Blanton, and Nelwyn Marston (Edwin), and brothers William Perry, O’Neal Perry (Kathy) and Earnie Perry (Carolyn).  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per her wishes there will be no funeral arrangements at this time.  A memorial service will be held for family members at a future date.  Memorials can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or the Ocular Melanoma Foundation.
