Gloria J. Myers, 1936 – 2022

Gloria J. Myers passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at home with her family present at her bed side after a illness. She was born on January 11, 1936. Leaves our earthly home at age of 86.

Gloria was born in Carlisle, MS. She graduated from Utica High School in 1954. She attended Grace Baptist Church. She worked with the love of her life of 67 years on a farm helping with cattle and hay fields. She drove a school bus for 24 years. She could not wait for Friday nights to drive the band to football games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. Jones and Flois Moulder Fredrickson; brothers Robert M. Jones Jr., Davis Jones, Ray Jones and Gary Jones.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ivan C. Myers Jr. (Pappy Myers); son Gerald (Becky); daughter Lori Cole (Tim); brother, Ravin Jones; granddaughters, Wendy Fairley, Cindy Woods, Jessica Adams; great-grandchildren, Jesslyn Clark, Jacee Fairley, Caitlyn Woods and Ben Woods.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Able officiating the service. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Elmer Nielsen, John Woods, Ben Woods, Tim Cole, Steve Woods and Robert Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Grace Baptist Church. 

The family would like to thank Nadine Carter (one of the family), Amedysis Home Health, Anona Davenport, Dr. Sligh and Dana Grant LPN, St. Joseph Hospice, Ami Belk and CeCe. We appreciate everything that was done for our loved one. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers.
