The Grace Christian Counseling Center is hosting their 15th annual Chillin’ in the Hills along with entertainment and the Grace Marketplace on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Martin’s at Midtown, located at 1101 Belmont St Vicksburg, MS 39180. This year, it is better than ever! We have rebranded the race to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. We pushed the race from the chill of January to the much more comfortable and chillin’ time of May. Our mascot, Gracie the snow runner, will be sporting a chillin’ Hawaiian style shirt while sipping from a cool drink (see the attached image of Gracie). So, our awards will be a hand-crafted tumbler, a piece of artwork just like our chili bowl awards from the past. And this year, both the run and the walk are 5K distances. We have also reduced the entry fee to $25.00! Come one, come all! Bring a team and compete for team awards, too! To add to the event, we will hold the Grace Marketplace from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Martin’s at Midtown parking lot. Venders selling food and beverages, crafts, and jewelry will be on hand to broaden the fun of the day. Come run and shop with us!

The Chillin’ in the Hills 5K racecourse winds through Vicksburg neighborhoods and ends at Martins at Midtown. Registration is available at Race Roster. Packet Pickup and late registration will be at Martin’s at Midtown from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 12, and from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on the day of the race. The 5K run and 5K walk begin at 8 a.m., and the 1-Mile Fun Run begins at the conclusion of the 5K Run and 5K Walk.

The Grace Christian Counseling Center is a 501(c)(3) organization. We serve the West Central portion of Mississippi with physical offices in Vicksburg, Port Gibson, and Canton. We also offer services statewide through telehealth services. Our fundraising helps us adjust fees for persons with no insurance coverage. All proceeds from our event will go directly to our uninsured fund which helps pay for the professional counseling services the Grace counselors provide. In 2022, we discounted our fees by $279,308.69 and provided services for 746 individuals, couples, and families for 4,426 sessions!

We are currently recruiting participants, volunteers, sponsors, and vendors. Race registration is now open online! To find links to our registration or for additional information, please visit the Chillin’ in the Hills page or call our office at 601-636-5703.
