Grammy winner Taj Mahal to perform at blues and gospel festival

Carroll County is host to the ninth annual Mississippi John Hurt Homecoming Festival Oct. 5 and 6.

This year’s annual blues and gospel music event features a program curated by Taj Mahal, Grammy-winning guitarist and singer, who also headlines. He will perform with special guest Jesse Colin Young.

Other performers include Guy Davis, Jim Kweskin, the Piedmont Bluz Acoustic Duo, The Como Mamas and others.

Saturday will feature a blues lineup, and Sunday’s gospel lineup includes an open mic session.

Tickets are $20 per day, and can be purchased online.
