Grammy winning Tomlin to headline free festival

Grammy award winning artist Chris Tomlin will headline the Flowood Family Festival next Saturday, May 8th at Flowood’s Liberty Park. This is an annual, free festival and gates will open at 4 p.m. Musical acts begin at 6:30 p.m. with pop worship band I AM THEY opening for Tomlin. I AM THEY is touring their third album and single, Faithful God.
Corey Tomlin, Chris Tomlin’s younger brother, and a gospel musician in his own right said, “A popular source once estimated that 20-30 million people world-wide sing one of Chris’ songs every week in church services in almost every language. Even TIME Magazine named him as the most often sung artist in the world. Chris has sold out huge arenas and venues like Madison Square Garden, The Hollywood Bowl in L.A. and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.”
The younger Tomlin is no stranger to Flowood or the annual festival. He has close friends in the area and loves visiting. “God’s blessings on the city and her people are evident everywhere you look. I’m excited that my brother was able to get this into his schedule this year.”
The free annual festival begins at 4 p.m. with space jumps and activities for children and families. Food vendors from local restaurants will also be on hand. A fireworks display will follow the concerts.
Liberty Park is located at 694 Liberty Road in Flowood.
