Brian Greer, accused of shooting his sister Heather Blakely Hearn Friday in Bovina, has been denied bail.

Greer, 40, is charged with attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a weapon. He was arraigned this morning via Zoom video conference before Warren County Justice Court Judge Jeff Crevitt.

The charges stem from a shooting Friday afternoon at the Clear Creek Campground behind Bovina Grocery. Hearn, 42, suffered three gunshot wounds including one to the head and two to her upper body. Her condition is not known at this time.

Greer fled the scene in his sister’s 2006 Pontiac G-6, which was later recovered north of Redwood on Ball Ground Road in Warren County.

Yazoo County Authorities captured Greer Saturday just before noon north of the Yazoo-Warren County line after witnesses reported a man with a weapon walking on State Highway 3 near a cornfield.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says the weapon will be sent to the Mississippi Crime Laboratory for ballistic verification.
