Griffin wins Defensive Player of the Year award for WC volleyball

Warren Central High School volleyball and soccer player Jayda Griffin has won the Defensive Player of the Year Award for her outstanding performance this past season.

Griffin, a 2020 graduate of Warren Central, lettered for two years on the volleyball team, and she has helped her team to much success. She lead the team in digs and receives while playing under head coach Matt Gullet.

Griffin also lettered in soccer for the past four years where she has led the Vikings to two consecutive playoff appearances. She helped the Vikings record 10 shutouts this season and achieve an 11-9 record.

Griffin has verbally committed to play college soccer this fall at Hinds Community College where she received two scholarships: the Bailey Scholarship and the Delta Sigma Scholarship.
