Central Mississippi Turtle Rescue saved seven alligator snapping turtles Wednesday including one they named Mr. T.

The seven turtles weighed in at between 30 pounds and Mr. T’s impressive 124 pounds. The rescue was from a lake being drained, and the group believes more turtles will emerge.

The nonprofit organization will test the snappers’ DNA to determine their origin and then release them back to the wild.
