Guardian Angel Ceola Parker:One year after saving two lives

One year ago, on February 4, 2022, a Speed Street home caught fire with two elderly women in it. Neighbor Ceola Parker saw the flames, called 911 and then, surrounded by smoke and encroaching flames helped both women out of the structure.
In a story that went viral, Parker’s heroism was celebrated including being honored by the city of Vicksburg. A Vicksburg Police officer, Tommy Curtis, Jr. assisted with getting the second woman out of the structure.

The Vicksburg Daily News caught up with Parker, who operates Parker’s Cleaning Service, to see how her life has been impacted one year after her heroic act.
In the video below, Parker gives credit to God and thanks Him for placing her there and allowing her to be his Angel. She said that God has been opening doors for her, including a big contract she just landed with the city:
“God has blessed me tremendously, ” said Parker. “All I can tell you guys is you need to try Jesus and he will bless you just like he blessed me.”
