Gulfport woman presented with honorary GED at 90

On Wednesday, Ellouise Lewis of Gulfport received an honorary GED at the age of 90 during a Gulfport Care Center ceremony, WLOX reports.
Lewis was a high school dropout. She left school in the 10th grade but says she wishes she would have stayed and finished high school.
Lisa Perdue, Activity Director, began to do some research and came across a Christian-based learning center, Wells of SouthGate. The center does not give out official GEDs, however, the honorary GED is a symbol of her knowledge and commitment to completing the courses.
“When they told me here that I could get my GED, I was happy about it. I’m still happy,” she told WLOX.
After passing a mock test administered by the group, Lewis became the first-ever recipient.
