Just Plain Fun
Guys, roll up your sleeves. It’s National Men Make Dinner Day.
The first Thursday in November is known as National Men Make Dinner Day. It places the man in charge of the kitchen for the day. The evening meal is on them.
The point of the holiday is to encourage men who have no experience in the kitchen, a chance to roll up their sleeves and experience some hands-on training. Also, firing up the BBQ grill doesn’t count.
The holiday was created in 2001 by Sandy Sharkey, which was announced on her website at menmakedinnerday.com. The website contains an instruction manual on how to properly observe the day. The website even boasts a recipe section to help even the most novice chef.
Men are encouraged to post their kitchen creations on social media using the hashtag #MenMakeDinnerDay.
