Haleigh Erwin named Vicksburg High’s Female Athlete of the Year

Vicksburg High School soccer and volleyball player Haleigh Erwin has been awarded the VHS Female Athlete of the Year award.
Erwin gave plenty of credit to those who helped her succeed over the years and all of her supporters who stuck by her side.
”I am very grateful for receiving the Female Athlete of the Year Award,” Erwin said. “I thank my parents for their support, along with my coaches and teammates for making these years fun and memorable.”
Erwin, a 2020 graduate, has been a dominating player in both sports over the past few years for the Gators, which led to her winning this award. She has played on the varsity soccer team since the seventh grade and ended her senior season with an impressive 27 goals.
In volleyball, Erwin has started on the varsity team since she was a freshman at VHS, and she made a huge impact on the team in all four years.
Not only does she excel in the athletic world but she is also a great student in the classroom; she is ranked No. 19 in her class of 188.
Erwin will be attending Alcorn State University this fall where she will be majoring in Biology.
