Hall named as VDN’s Offensive Player of the Year

Warren Central High School football player Trey Hall has been named as the VDN Offensive Player of the Year.
Hall, who helped WC to a 10-2 season in 2022, had a dominating year for the Vikings as both a wide receiver and a running back.
“This season went great and I met some of my goals, especially rushing for 1,000 yards which was one of my main goals,” Hall said.
As a junior in 2021, Hall rushed for 473 yards along with 378 receiving yards. He had a complete turnaround season in 2022 where he had 1,009 rushing yards, 14 rushing touchdowns, 415 receiving yards and five receiving yards while becoming WC’s new leader in receptions.
Although WC lost some key starters from last season, Hall knew that the Vikings would easily bounce back and show out on the football field.
“During summer workouts I could feel the vibe that we were going to do something special and we did just that,” Hall said.
The Vikings soared with a 10-2 record and took out nearly everyone they went up against, but Hall’s favorite memory was defeating Oak Grove in a 42-41 overtime win.
“That last play when I came in motion but I fell and my boy Maddox (Lynch) caught the two-point conversion so that had to be the greatest moment,” Hall said.
Hall proved himself to be a true leader this season as he doubled his stats from last year and was named the Region 3-6A Athlete of the Year and was selected to play in the Bernard Blackwell Classic. He is the third individual to be named the VDN Offensive Player of the Year.
“I feel great about this because this was actually another one of my goals so I feel really great and accomplished.”
As of now, Hall is still weighing his options on where he wants to play next as he currently has offers from Mississippi Gulf Coast CC, East Mississippi CC, Northwest Mississippi CC, Delta State University, Hinds CC, Co-Lin, Southwest Mississippi and East Central CC.
Hall will make his decision in the upcoming months as his time on the high school football field has come to an end, but he definitely left his mark as a Viking.
“Football means everything to me. It’s my life, and on the field is where I lose all my problems,” said Hall.
